The West, Middle and East Tennessee Regional Future Farmers of America (FFA) Banquets were held throughout the state to recognize over 1,200 FFA members for their accomplishments throughout the year.
The 2014-2015 Regional FFA Officer Teams were also elected and installed at the banquets. The West Tennessee Regional President is Catherine Moore of Dyersburg, the Middle Tennessee Regional President is Chelsea Sanders of Wilson Central and the East Tennessee Regional President is Emily White of Daniel Boone. Each Regional President will go on to represent the state of Tennessee as a voting delegate at the 87th National FFA Convention in Louisville this October alongside the Tennessee State FFA Officer Team.
The Tennessee Farmer’s Cooperative has sponsored each of the regional banquets for 10 years. Each of the 54 individual cooperatives located across the state donate $100 to make this sponsorship possible.
With its headquarters in LaVergne and facilities in East and West Tennessee, Tennessee Farmer’s Cooperative has a total of three distribution centers, three fertilizer plants, five feed mills, a metal fabrication plant, a farm equipment facility, and a maintenance shop. In addition, a seed conditioning and vegetable and lawn seed packaging facility are located at Halls in West Tennessee and barge terminals are operated in Nashville and Ft. Loudon.
FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. Nationally, there are 579,678 FFA members, aged 12-21. The Tennessee FFA Association is comprised of 13,644 members from 213 high school chapters, seven middle school chapters and eight collegiate chapters across the state of Tennessee.
