The Tennessee FFA Association 2024 Goodwill Tour started off strong. After orientation and dinner with Kathy Mitchell Garrett and Melanie Mitchell Gunter, daughters of longest-serving state advisor, Kenneth K. Mitchell, the first full day began with an engaging breakfast at the Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation. The state officer team then split between West and East Tennessee.
The West Tennessee group toured farm-to-shop butcher store, Light Hill Meats, visited First Farmers Co-op’s Lexington location to learn how they are driven to serve farmers in their four-county “bootprint," and saw innovation in action at Crockett County FFA, a program continuously evolving in remarkable ways to meet the needs of its members. The East Tennessee group visited Washington Farmers Co-op to learn how they are uniquely driven to serve farmers in East Tennessee, took a look into the world of farm equipment dealerships at West Hills Tractor, Inc., toured Cross Creek Farm, packed meals for Hunger to Hope to be distributed both locally and around the world, and finished the day enjoying dinner with Washington County FFA chapters!
Thank you to all of our hosts and sponsor of the Tennessee FFA Goodwill Tour, the Tennessee Farmers Cooperative Foundation!
