Day 3 of the 2024 Goodwill Tour, sponsored by the Tennessee Farmers Cooperative Foundation, was full of visits with Tennessee FFA members, agriculture industry leaders, and more.
The State Officers traveling to West Tennessee saw solar energy shining brightly at Agricenter International, experienced local food systems transformed at Green Leaf Learning Farm while learning the mission and innovation at work at AgLaunch, learned how The Cotton Board serves cotton farmers and importers of cotton through research and promotion, and learned how Helena Agri-Enterprises is dedicated to people, products, and knowledge, while being interviewed on the Helena FieldLink Podcast and developing formulas in the Helena Products Group Innovation Laboratory.
The State Officers traveling to East Tennessee started the day with breakfast at The University of Tennessee Herbert College of Agriculture, enjoyed lunch and fellowship with FFA members from Greene County, toured Meco Corporation’s factory to see how grills, smokers, and folding furniture are manufactured, stopped at East Tennessee Veterinary Hospital to see the ins and outs of a veterinary medical clinic, visited Bill Weigel, founder of Weigel's Stores, and shared dinner with Tennessee FFA Board of Directors member Rhey Houston and Sponsoring Committee members David Lynn and Steve Miller.
